Resonating Trees - Crape Myrtles

teamLab, 2014, Interactive Installation, Sound: Hideaki Takahashi

When people or animals pass close to the trees, the trees shine brightly and produce a tone. That light and tone then spreads out continuously, one by one, to the surrounding trees.

If a wave of light comes from afar, it signifies the presence of people or animals there. Perhaps, people gain a heightened sense of awareness of the existence of other people or animals in the same space and the environment.
