The contours of life’s existence are not the surface boundary of the body, but something ambiguous that includes the environment that is continuous with it.
As long as people live, they dissipate energy and affect the environment, such as the flow of air.
In this artwork, the existence of a person is depicted through the energy dissipated by people into the world for as long as they live.

Being consists of the mind, the body, and the environment that is continuous with them.

Objects like stones and man-made creations so far have maintained a stable structure on their own. But life is different. Whereas a stone can continue to exist in a closed box, sealed off from the outside world, life would cease to exist.

Life is like a vortex created in the ocean. A vortex forms and exists in a flow of matter, and the boundaries of its existence are ambiguous.  

Although a vortex is steady, it is constantly moving and swelling like a powerful life-form. The vortex cannot maintain a stable structure on its own; rather, it is created and sustained by water that continuously flows inwards and outwards.

The same is true of life. It consumes external matter and energy as food and discharges it, sustaining its ordered structure as the energy dissipates. In other words, life does not exist by itself. It is the environment that is continuous with it that maintains the structure of life.

Life is a miraculous phenomenon that emerges from a flow in an open world. Like an ocean vortex, it is an existence with ambiguous boundaries in an infinite continuity.

To be alive is to be inseparable from the world, constantly dissipating energy into it.

Seasonal flowers bloom while slowly changing. Animals are born from those flowers. The flowers continue to bloom and die in an eternal cycle, forming the shapes of animals.When people touch the animals, the flower petals scatter. If people touch the animals too much, all of the flowers will scatter, and the animals will die and fade away.
The artwork is not a pre-recorded image that is played back; it is created by a computer program that continuously renders the work in real time. The interaction between people and the installation causes continuous change in the artwork, so previous visual states can never be replicated, and will never reoccur. The picture at this moment can never be seen again.

Autonomous abstraction.
The dots of light blink and change color in cycles unique to each dot. A spontaneous order phenomenon occurs between dots that are close to each other, and their hues and the rhythm at which they blink gradually synchronize. When people touch them, the rhythm of the blinking hues change and are randomized, but the dots close to each other once again cause a spontaneous order phenomenon between them.
The dots of lights emit a tone each time they blink. The tones can be heard continuously throughout the space; what sounds like music is solely created by the continuous tones produced by the blinking lights.

A spontaneous order phenomenon occurs when different rhythms influence each other and synchronize. Examples include when the pendulums of two clocks gradually begin to swing together; when many fireflies gather in one tree and all start blinking at the same time, creating a larger light as a whole; or when the cells that make up the heart synchronize and tremble simultaneously to create the pulse of the heart. This can be seen in various systems, from physical phenomena, neurophysiology, to ecosystems. Although the individual parts do not have the ability to observe the whole, the phenomenon of self-organization is the creation of an ordered and larger structure, resulting from the autonomous behavior of each individual part influencing each other. This phenomenon is also known as spontaneous order.

It is believed that entropy (a measurement of the lack of order in a system) in the universe will steadily increase (the law of increasing entropy) and that entities with form eventually collapse. Despite that, it is a wonder that the sun was created and the planets were born, that life was formed and societies exist. However, the reason why the universe, life, nature, and society continue to be maintained in spite of this may be because order is continuously formed on its own through the shared phenomenon of self-organization in the midst of disorder. In other words, the universe and our own existence are a continuous order created by the same phenomenon.

다른 작품과의 경계를 넘나들며 꽃이 피고 진다. 한 해 동안 계절 따라 피는 꽃들이, 한 시간 만에 바뀌어 간다. 
꽃들은 생겨나 자라고 흐드러졌다가는 끝내 시들어 사라져 간다. 탄생과 죽음을 끝없이 거듭한다. 사람들이 가만히 서 있으면 꽃송이가 평소보다 더 많이 피어나지만, 만지거나 주변을 거닐면 일제히 꽃잎을 떨군다. 
작품은 컴퓨터 프로그램에 의해 실시간으로 그려져 간다. 사전에 기록된 영상을 재생하는 방식이 아니며 이전의 상태가 되풀이되는 경우도 없다. 사람들의 움직임의 영향을 받아들여 끝없이 변화해 간다. 지금 이 순간의 장면은 두 번 다시 볼 수 없다.
그리고, 다른 작품들에게도 영향을 주고, 다른 작품에 영향을 받아 꽃이 지기도한다.
지난 봄, 어느 골짜기를 찾았다. 산벚꽃이며, 비탈의 유채꽃을 보자니 사람이 심었는지 스스로 피었는지 궁금해졌다. 온갖 꽃이 난만한, 참으로 근사한 장소였다. 꽃이 많다는 사실은, 그 자연이 인간의 영향을 받은 생태계임을 알려 준다. 어디까지가 자연이고 어디부터가 인위인지 경계도 극히 모호했다. 자연과 인간은 대립된 개념이 아니며, 근사한 자연이란 인간사도 아우르는 생태계라는 걸 느끼게 해 주었다. 근대의 믿음과 달리 인간이 자연을 온전히 파악할 수도, 완벽히 통제할 수도 없었기에, 기나긴 시간 자연의 섭리에 순응하며 이 근사한 경관을 가꾸어 온 것은 아닐까. 골짜기의 마을은 근대 이전에는 바닷길이 지나는 길목이어서 번성했지만, 근대에 들어 육로 중심으로 바뀌면서 육지의 외딴 섬이 되고 말았다. 그 덕분에 근대 이전 자연과 인간의 관계가 어렴풋이 남아, 제어할 수 없음을 깨달았을 때 자연을 향한 인위적 행위란 어떤 모습인지를 사유하게 했다.

아무것도 없는 칠흑 같은 작품.텅 비어 있기 때문에, 무엇이든 들어갈수 있다. 그리고, 무한한 가능성이 펼쳐진다. 비어있기 때문에, 다른 존재와 개념을 돋보이게 한다.

In the background, cherry blossoms bloom and scatter, the cycle of life repeats. From the center of the background a circle is born which increases in size with a constant rhythm. Depending on the circle the light and darkness of the background world changes.

Color in an airplane, butterfly, or hawk on the paper provided and see the picture you have drawn appear three-dimensionally, flying through the world in front of you. If you touch them, they speed up or fly away.
You can control the plane, butterfly, or hawk with the tablet and see the world from their perspectives on the screen.For example, butterflies have a 344-degree horizontal field of vision, and almost a 360-degree vertical field of vision. With the tablet, you can see the world not only in front of you, but on both sides and behind you as well.Hawks can see two things clearly at once. They can observe small creatures on the ground while looking ahead of them as they fly. Tap an area you want to zoom in on the tablet, and that area will appear bigger on the screen.
Each living creature understands the world only through their own perception, so the world looks different depending on the creature. Such worlds constructed upon each creature’s unique perceptual experiences are called umwelt.

This is a window into the universe where little people live.
You can create a picture by drawing lines with a light pen or creating shapes with a light stamp. Each line has a special power depending on its color, and influences the little people’s world. The shapes created by the light stamps appear in the little people’s world and start to move.
Yellow lines make the little people bounce and fly.Blue lines speed up the little people, making them run faster.Pink lines make the little people bounce like on a rubber band, and the reverberations are transferred along the line.Purple lines have gravity and attract the little people to them.Green lines form shapes and they start to move.
Draw a big picture and try lots of stamps together with those around you. Create a new world in the little people’s universe, give them various powers and watch their world transform into a new world.

Aerial Climbing is a space where horizontal bars of varying colors are suspended by ropes and float three-dimensionally in the air. People use these bars to navigate the space in mid-air through three dimensions, trying not to fall. As the bars are linked, the movement caused on a bar by a person will affect the bars on which other people are standing. The arrangement of the bars vary depending on the selected route, so people’s experiences will differ depending on the various ways the bars are linked.When people climb onto the bars, they shine brightly and produce a sound specific to its color. The more people climb onto bars of different colors, the more sounds will be played at the same time.
Flocks of birds fly around freely in this space. When they fly near the people in the space, they take on the color of the bars on which the people stand.
The movement of thousands of birds is beautiful and mysterious, appearing like a single giant life form. The flock has neither a leader nor mutual consensus, but it is said that the birds move on the simple basis of; if my neighbor moves, then I move too. However, the biological mechanism that causes hundreds of birds to move at the same time remains a mystery. It seems there is a universal principle that humans have yet to understand. Likewise, the arrangement of color of the flock is not predetermined. Influenced by people, the birds move, based on a primitive rule unknown to humankind, which in turn creates a complex and beautiful coloration in the space.
