Ethereal Body of Water in the Ancient Forest

teamLab, 2026, from the series Universe of Water Particles, 2013-, installation, Sound: Hideaki Takahashi

The Yoro Valley was formed in just 20,000 years as water carved deeply and sharply into the land that had been built up over 3 million years, creating these steep cliffs and valleys. Water shaped this land, and as a rich source of life, it has sustained human activity and agriculture here since ancient times.

Waterfalls appear in the depths of the forest, shimmering, overlapping, and becoming one with the ancient forest.

They are the memories of the water that once flowed through this earth for tens of thousands of years.

As visitors walk through the multiple overlapping layers of water cascading onto the ancient forest, they become immersed in the memories of the water.
