Resonating Forest and Castle Ruins - Kushimazaki Tree Flora

teamLab, 2017, Interactive Digitized Nature, Sound: Hideaki Takahashi
Kushimazaki tree flora is a natural forest which after the abandonment of Kushima castle, returned to its natural state untouched by human hands, becoming a forest of natural flora and large trees.
The trees of the forest and the stone walls of the castle shine brilliantly.
The light of the trees and stone walls is autonomous, the lights shine brightly and then the light disappears as if they are slowly breathing.

When a person passes nearby, the light color of the trees and the stone wall changes. A particular color tone resonates out. The resonating light propagates to nearby trees and stone walls. The resonating light is transmitted to the next trees and stone walls one after another, spreading the color tone in the same way continuously.

When a light resonates from deep within the forest, it signifies the presence of people. Perhaps people will become more aware of the existence of other living things in the space they share.
