Wander through the Crystal World

teamLab, 2018, Interactive Installation of Light Sculpture, LED, Endless, Sound: Hideaki Takahashi

This interactive installation artwork uses an accumulation of light points to create a sculptural body, similar to the way distinct dots of color form an image in pointillist painting. Here, the accumulation of lights in the three-dimensional space expresses elements of the natural world.

Crystal World is created when people send elements of the natural world into the space from their smartphones. Each of these elements influence one another, and is also influenced by the presence of people.

When other works at teamLab Borderless enter this world, it transforms into three-dimensional creations composed of points of light.

This artwork is forever evolving, changing moment to moment due to the people in the space.

This is a continuation of the Light Sculpture - Point series, which began with teamLab Crystal Tree in 2013.
