ONE WORLD CLOCK

teamLab, 2004, Clock

A clock with twelve hands that have the names of 12 world cities written on them, all the cities are in different time-zones from Tokyo. This clock tells the time of 11 other cities in the world as well as telling the time in Tokyo.

Concept of “ONE WORLD CLOCK”
In this information era, the whole world is linked. We all have to keep the rest of the world in mind as we do our jobs, and so our clocks should also have this global consciousness. In fact, if you line up clocks that each tell the time of a different city, and look closely at the second hand, you will notice that they are all slightly out of synch. Since we are one world, we should be on one time.
