This is an artwork that uses Kochi Castle’s stone walls: a historical landmark formed in most part by natural, untouched stones piled on one another. The light that draws the calligraphy is black, meaning there is no light, thus making it indistinguishable from the shadows of the stone walls formed by natural rocks heaped on one another and their weathering over the course of several hundred years. The calligraphy pours into the shadows of the stone wall.
When people stand near the characters, the worlds that the characters embody will appear, influencing one another to create a single world.
The elements that are born from the characters are placed at various positions within the space, and the physical influences and connections between them produce a single world. For example, when the wind blows, flowers and snow physically fly away. Birds alight in trees, and butterflies are attracted to flowers. Just as in nature, what you see at this moment can never be seen again.
