Four Seasons Kishoza - A Stage Curtain Spun from Time

teamLab, 2019, Digital Installation, Endless
The artwork depicts the townscape of Nihonbashi and people's activities during the reformation of the Meiji Era, when Kishoza, the predecessor of the Meijiza, was born. Various people and occupations of the day, as well as historical characters (Takamori Saigo, Taisuke Itagaki, and Hirobumi Ito) also appear in the town.

The weather of the artwork world reflects the real-time weather in Nihonbashi, and it changes daily with the changing of the seasons. It grows bright with the beginning of each day in Nihonbashi, it turns to dusk with the real-time sunset, and finally turns dark as night falls. The activities of the people change accordingly. If it is raining in Nihonbashi, it will rain in the world of the artwork as well.

Further, in accordance with the change of the season, typical events such as cherry blossom viewing, festivals, autumn leaves, and snow landscapes can be seen in the world of the artwork.
