Galaxy & teamLab: Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity

A showcase of the Galaxy brand that opened in Harajuku, Tokyo in March 2019.
Since 2022, Galaxy Harajuku has been collaborating with teamLab to offer an experiential center dedicated to engaging people with new discoveries in every visit, through transformative and unparalleled experiences that offer an insight into the future.

teamLab is an art collective that has been active since 2001. Through bodily perception, teamLab seeks to transcend the boundaries in our perceptions of the world and of the continuity of time.

Galaxy has also continued to revolutionize user experiences through cutting-edge technology. Since announcing the foldable smartphone in 2019 and creating a new innovative category, Galaxy aims to deliver a future of smartphones that defies conventional wisdom through its technological capabilities.

In 2026, Galaxy and teamLab will create a new artwork space.

The artworks that will be exhibited at Galaxy Harajuku are Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity and Flow Reaches Far.

In Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity, the flowers repeat the cycle of life and death in perpetuity. When people touch the flowers, the petals scatter, and when they stand still, more flowers begin to grow.
The flowers change in the flow of time.

In Flow Reaches Far, when a person moves, a flow is born, and that flow creates an influence that extends far and wide. The movement of other people will likewise create a flow, coming together and creating a vortex. The vortices change along with the flow.
When people stop, or if people leave the space, the flow will eventually disappear and nothing will exist in the space.

In a space where no two moments are ever the same, capture the ephemeral with Galaxy’s innovative technology and make it yours using Galaxy's innovative foldable smartphone, created with cutting-edge technology.
We will offer this new experience in 2026.

About teamLab
teamLab (f. 2001) is an international art collective. Their collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, and the natural world. Through art, the interdisciplinary group of specialists, including artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects, aims to explore the relationship between the self and the world, and new forms of perception. In order to understand the world around them, people separate it into independent entities with perceived boundaries between them. teamLab seeks to transcend these boundaries in our perceptions of the world, of the relationship between the self and the world, and of the continuity of time. Everything exists in a long, fragile yet miraculous, borderless continuity. teamLab’s works are in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney; Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide; National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; Amos Rex, Helsinki; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Asian Art Museum, San Francisco; Borusan Contemporary Art Collection, Istanbul; and Asia Society Museum, New York, among others. teamlab.art Biographical Documents teamLab is represented by Pace Gallery, Martin Browne Contemporary and Ikkan Art.
