A white cube gallery places an artwork in a unique environment. However, ancient festivals and rituals place people in a unique bodily state.

Rather than placing the work in an white cube space, teamLab aims to put people in an extraordinary state. With teamLab Festival (2016), teamLab Jungle (2016-17), and teamLab Reconnect (2021), teamLab has explored and experimented with the physical perception of art by changing the viewer's state, such as the body's state of resonance and altered states of consciousness.
