Typhoon Balls and Weightless Forest of Resonating Life - 9 Blurred Colors and 3 Base Colors

teamLab, 2020-, Interactive Installation, Sound: Hideaki Takahashi

Typhoon Light Balls are a group of giant balls that float, sink, and continuously turn. When they are pushed by a person or receive an impact, they change color and produce a tone unique to that color. The surrounding spheres respond one after another, changing to the same color and sounding the same tone in succession.

The surrounding ovoids are autonomous - when an ovoid is pushed over by a person, it rises back up on its own as it changes color, shining brightly and producing a tone. The surrounding ovoids respond one after another, changing to the same color and emitting the same tone.

Because the Typhoon Light Ball and ovoid colors are produced by light, it is possible to create nine blurred colors (light in water, sunlight on water plants, morning glow, morning sky, sky at twilight, peach, plum, iris, and spring maple), as well as three base colors (blue, red, and green), producing a total of twelve colors.
