Waterfalls and rivers painted by Japanese Masters are often expressed with a collection of lines. Somewhere within that collection of lines we can feel the spirit.

Within all of us there is a sense of awe and respect for nature, and because of this we can feel a kind of god-like or spirit presence in the waterfall. So when you place yourself in front of the waterfall, you face your inner self and wash the everyday worldly thoughts from your mind, you are retuned to a pure state and feel one with nature.

The Japanese sho (calligraphy) characters, are chosen in connection with the character心, (kokoro) which translates as spiritmind or heart.
The waterfall is simulated as a physically existing waterfall, and lines are added.

Move close to the work and you cast a shadow and just as your spirit is washed, characters float out from your shadow.

How to Interact with “The Spirit Waterfall”

1. Waterfall projected on the wall.
2. If you move or walk in front of the artwork calligraphy characters are born.
3. The calligraphy changes color.
4.The calligraphy expands out into the space and fades out.
